To the sec 1s, from tomorrow's[29feb'08] practice onwards, every wednesday and friday, band practice will end at 5.30pm. do inform your parents. so that, your parents won't be worried for you.

AND

to those that have brought back your instrument, please bring it back tomorrow and look for quater master/mistress to get it sign in. if it's not signed in and the quater master/mistress cannot find that particular instrument, we'll hold you responsible for the missing instrument. due to the serial number comes along with your name that had been recorded in the book.

In case anyone forget the Rules & Regulations of PUNGGOL Band. It shall be posted up here.

#1 - RESPECT!!!!! be it to teachers, seniors or other bandmates.
#2 - STRICTLY NO vulgarities. whoever is caught, 50cents/ letter. eg. f*** = $2 shall be donated to the band fund. =D
#3 - NO jeering!
#4 - Care & concern for one another.
#5 - Only language - ENGLISH!
#6 - Knocking of instrument per time - 50cents. [goes into Band fund]
- dropping of mouthpiece - $1. [goes into Band fund]
#7 - Don't be late for band practice! per min - 1frog jump.
10 mins - 1lap of frog jump across the music/band room.
#8 - Phones to be kept in the box until end of Band practice, you then can take it back.

What you have to do!

- take good care of your instrument. BE RESPONSIBLE!
- maintain discipline in BAND.
- make sure ur attendance is not falling.

This coming monday; 25feb'08. 3pm sharp, the committees would like to address you. assemble at the 4th floor table tennis area[outside the girl's toilet, nearest to the music room.]

Sec 1s, please pass the msg around. but ONLY TO the SEC 1s not to the seniors.

Those that are not able to make it, please send a msg to your Section Leader with your
reason[s] stated.

For in case you don't know your section leader's number, you can inform the other leaders in the band. or, leave a tag at the tagboard.

- 2 minutes of OCTAVE SLURS
- 5 minutes SCALES (including various dynamics & articulations)
- 5 minutes SIDE-READING
- 12 minutes BAND METHOD MUSIC, ASSIGNMENT
- 5 minutes ACTIVE LISTENING TO RECORDINGS
Total = 30minutes

& when you are doing the activites, make you have GOOD POSTURE, FULL CONTROL of BREATHING , CONCENTRATION.

& also remember to do the BREATHING EXERCISE when practicing.

well-dressed with your instrument, stand and scores.

FLUTE, CLARINET & FRENCH HORN SECTION will arrange the chairs in the hall.
the rest, SAXAPHONES, TRUMPET, TROMBONE, TUBA, will help with the percussion instruments together with the PERCUSSIONISTS.

TAKECARE OF YOURSELVES!!!! HAVE PLENTY OF REST AND WATER. [AT least 4 bottles[500ml]/8 cups of mineral water per day.]

PUNGGOL SECONDARY CONCERT BAND, also known as PSSB, was established in 2001. Through the years, with the support from the School and Teachers, PSSB have managed to overcome challenges and achieved beyond boundaries.

The Band has been under our Resident Conductress, Ms Ten Rong Rong, since our founding days. Under her baton, the Band participated in her first ever SYF in the year 2005, attaining a Bronze Medal. Since then, PSSB has maintained her standard and earned her well deserved medals in both Year 2007 and 2009.

Being part of the Performing Arts Group, the Band has constantly been part of the school’s celebration. From CNY Concert to the Annual Speech Day, PSSB is always there to bring entertaining music to the crowd. Apart from that, the Band is also nicknamed as the heart-beat of Punggol Secondary’s Marching Contingents.

PSSB started its very own mini-concert last year, specially organized for the members’ parents for their continuous support for the Band. The Band also performed in her first joined concert at TPY HDB HUB in 2006. In 2008, the Band was also involved in the Performing Group Concert held at the NAFA.

Together with Ms Ten and the teachers, PSSB is confident that we can continue to strive and attain higher standards of musicianship and also the passion for music in years to come.
